Job Description :

Post Name : Primary Investigator

Vacancies : 31[ UR(M)-08, UR(W)-03, SEBC(M)-05, SEBC(W)-03, SC(M)-03, SC(W)-02, ST(M)-05, ST(W)-02, PWD-1, Ex servicemen-1 ]

Salary Scale : Rs.5200/- with Grade Pay Rs.1900/- Pay Band-I

Age Limit : Age of the candidates must not be below 21 years and above 32 years of age as on
1.1.2015. Relaxation limits 5 years in case of SC, ST, SEBC and Women candidates. 10 years
for PWD candidates & total period of service rendered in Defence Forces in case of Ex servicemen. For in-service contractual employees as per provisions contained in the concerned Rules.

Educational Qualification : The candidate must have Bachelor Degree in Arts / Science having Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Application / Physics / Economics / Applied Economics / Agricultural Economics / Sociology / Econometrics as one of the subject or a Degree in Commerce. Desirable qualification - PGDCA.

Service Condition :  Appointment is contractual initially to be guided by the Odisha Group-C & D (Contractual Appointment) Rules, 2013 notified vide G.A. Department Notification No. GAD-SC-Rules-0009-2013-32010/Gen dt.12.11.2013

Application Fee : Application fee is Rs. 100/- Fee is to be paid online through Odisha Treasury Portal (e-chalan) or Treasury Chalan in anyTreasury / Sub-Treasury under the prescribed Head of Account "0051-PSC-104-UPSC/SSC- Examination Fees-0047-Fees collected for conducting
examinations-02041-Examination Fees". The ST, SC & PWD candidates are exempted from paying any examination fee.

OSSC Primary Investigator Exam Pattern

Main written Examination consists of one paper of 120 marks of 1:30 hours duration . It consists of 

  1. Main Written Examination (General Studies.) : 120 Marks
  2. Career mark : 60 Marks (HSC-10 marks, +2 : 20 marks & Graduation : 30 marks).
  3. Viva Voce Test : 20 Marks
Main Written Examination : A composite paper of 120 Marks of 1:30 hours duration (OMR sheet). The written examination will be of one paper on General Studie of multiple choice answer type. The candidates will answer in OM answer sheet. There will be negative marks for every wrong answer of 0.25 marks.

Syllabus of examination-

The question will test the candidates general knowledge o subjects like General Science, current events, History & Geography o India/ Odisha, Indian Polity & Constitution, Socio-economic scenari of India, Issues in Environment and Human rights, Statistics Economics, Commerce & knowledge of Computer. Questions will als' test the candidates knowledge in Arithmetic of HSC standard quantitative aptitude and numerical skill, problems in logic an' reasoning, English and Odia language skill, grammar & usage.

Viva voce Test-

There shall be a viva-voce test carrying 20 marks. Basing on the performance in the written examination, candidates numbering up to 3 times the number of vacancies in the respective categories will be called for viva-voce test.

Career Assessment

There shall be career assessment from H.S.0 to Graduation carrying 60 marks. H.S.0 10 marks , +2 (20 marks) & Graduation 30 marks. Career mark will be calculated as per percentage of mark secured by the candidates.
