Odisha B.Ed Entrance 2018 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

SCERT, Odisha has publish the ONLINE APPLICATION for the B.Ed Entrance Exam 2018 for selecting the candidates to take admission into B.Ed courses in various B.Ed colleges of Odisha. Admission to B.Ed courses for session 2018-19 will be takes place according to the mark obtained by the candidates in the B.Ed Entrance Exam.       Here we are going to provide you the details of B.Ed Entrance Exam 2018 question pattern and detail syllabus from which question will be asked. So go though the details carefully.



Odisha B.Ed Entrance 2018 Exam Pattern:

The test shall be conducted in two papers. The subjects and distribution of marks
in each paper are given in the following table. 
  1. Exam Name : B.Ed Entrance 2018
  2. Time :90 Minutes
  3. Date of Entrance Test : 22nd July, 2018 (Expected)
  4. Total mark 90 Marks
  5. 1 Mark for Each correct answer and 0.25 Mark will be deducted for wrong answer
  6. The Entrance Test will be conducted online

Paper I :  (Compulsory ) : 30 Marks

It is compulsory for all the candidates. It would consist of 4 section. This Section shall be of 30 marks. There will be 30 questions. Each question carries one (01) mark. Question shall be multiple choice type.
  1. General English  :  10 Qns : 10 Mark
  2. Education and General Awareness  : 05 Qns : 05 Mark
  3. Reasoning  : 05 Qns : 05 Mark
  4. Teaching Aptitude  : 10 Qns : 10 Mark

Paper – II :  60 Marks

Section II shall consist of subject based tests. Candidates with Science background has to choose any two subjects from among Mathematics, Physical Science, Bio-Science and Geography. Candidates with Arts background has to choose any two subjects from among Mathematics, History and Political Science, Geography, English, Odia.

Set – A (Arts Stream)
  1. General English : 15 Qns : 15 Mark
  2. Odia  : 15 Qns : 15 Mark
  3. History and Political Science   : 15 Qns : 15 Marks
  4. Geography  : 15 Qns : 15 Marks
Set – B (Science Stream)
  1. Physical Science  : 20 Qns : 20 Marks
  2. Bio-Science  : 20 Qns : 20 Marks
  3.  Mathematics  : 20Qns : 20Marks
Type of Questions :  

The entrance will be conducted online.  Each questions carries 4 option

Detail Syllabus for B.Ed Entrance 2018 

Paper I 

It is compulsory for all the candidates. It would consist of Language (English), General Awareness, Reasoning and Teaching Aptitude. This Section shall be of 30 marks. There will be 30 questions. Each question carries one (01) mark. Question shall be multiple choice type.

Paper II :

Set A (Arts Stream) : English, Odia, History and Political Science, Geography

English : 
  • Comprehension – Unseen text 
  • Word formation, derivation, antonyms and Synonyms
  • Spelling and punctuation
  • Grammar (Parts of speech, time and tense, change of voice, Direct and indirect speech and transformation of sentences)

Odia : 
  • Comprehension – Unseen text 
  • Odia Dhwani, Odia Vocabulary – Word formation and syntax Spelling and Punctuation Grammar (Karaka, Bibhakti, Samasa)
  • History and Political Science :  Rise of the British power in India
  • Socio-religious Movements in 19th Century
  • India’s struggle for freedom
  • French Revolution, 1st World War and 2nd World War 
  • Salient features of Indian constitution and Fundamental Rights
  • Functions of Legislative Assembly, Parliament, High Court and Supreme Court

Geography : 
  • Latitude and Longitude
  • Physical division of India
  • Natural Resources
  • Social and economic resources
  • Conservation of forest and wild life

Set B (Science Stream) : Physical Science, Bio-Science, Mathematics 

Physical Science : 
  • Atomic structure – Atoms and molecules, classification of elements 
  • Chemical reactions and equations 
  • Motion – Laws of motion, concept of work, energy pressure and their measurement  Electricity and magnetism: - Electric Circuit, Potential difference, magnetic Field, lines of force, electro-magnetic induction 
  • Heat, Light and Sound 

Mathematics : 
  • Number System, Ratio and Proportion 
  • Set theory, relations and functions 
  • Linear, Simultaneous and quadratic equations, polynomials 
  • Theory of Indices, Logarithm and Antilogarithm 
  • Trigonometric Ratios and Indices, Problems on height and distance 
  • Basic Geometrical Concepts and Geometry of plane figures 

Biological Science : 
  • Cell : Structure, Components and Functions 
  • Diversities in plants and animals 
  • Natural resources 
  • Environment – Eco-system, flow of energy, Bio-Geo Chemical cycle in nature, environmental degradation and pollution 
  • Basic Physiological function in plants and animals : Nutrition, Respiration, Excretion and Reproduction
